An Adaptation of the Principle and Foundation of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

 

                                                      Loving Jesus,
      remembering that everything has the potential to deepen my life in you,
                             I pray for the graces I most need this day
       to live attentively to all that you freely offer and hope I will accept.
                         With your help, may I make the choices in this day
                           which support my desire for union with you,
             aware always that the goal of my life is to live with you forever.
        May I encounter and be receptive to you in all whom I meet this day.
                   You, who grace me with all good things, transform me:
                                               reveal your will for me.
                               Teach my heart to love you with my life,
                   making a total gift of self over and over this day and all days
                               that we might truly become one in love.
