Today we meet John the Baptist fulfilling the words of Isaiah, "A herald's voice in the desert, crying, 'Make ready the way of our God; clear a straight path.'"

Might Isaiah's prophecy and John's ministry serve as a reminder and a challenge to us of our mission as Sisters of Saint Joseph and Associates: to recognize with particular clarity the miseries of people throughout the world. (Constitutions #22)

What one action step shall I take this week that could make the twisted paths straight and the rough road smooth?
             --perhaps sitting with a troubled or troublesome child...
             --perhaps visiting someone who is mourning the loss of a loved one...
             --perhaps advocating for an immigrant father facing deportation...
             --perhaps choosing to do one of the suggestions from the Justice Action Alerts...
             --perhaps...??
