Ponderings of Grace from Saint Mary by-the-Sea Fourth Sunday of Advent

 

 

FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT  

Luke 1: 26-38

 

 

 

A six-year-old once portrayed Gabriel’s invitation to Mary: “Will you do a favor for God?” Although confused and frightened, Mary’s whole-hearted “Yes” brought her new life.

 

When God’s invitations often come to us we may find ourselves frightened and confused and yet we may be confident that they hold life-giving opportunities for us.

 

What would your response be to the invitation “Will you do a favor for God?”
