Ponderings of Grace - Fifth Sunday of Easter

The church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria was at peace.
It was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord,
and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit it grew in numbers. Acts 9: 31
Let the coming generation be told of the LORD
that they may proclaim to a people yet to be born the justice God has shown. Ps 22: 32
God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. 1 John 3
I am the vine, you are the branches. John 15

The faith tradition in which we make our homes is a branch of the vine.
It is not the vine, Jesus is. The peace in which we dwell and the Good News we proclaim by our lives is that the Great God has already made us one, has brought us into right relationship. We pray for the grace to let ourselves be claimed by and for that truth.

Placing our confidence in the God who is greater than our hearts can free us from dissatisfaction with the present and lure us into being a peaceful face of love and justice. What reassurance do I need to live with that freedom?
