Ponderings of Grace ~ Second Sunday in Lent

"This is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased."

As we reflect on the Transfiguration the Apostles, like us, notice the huge gap between Jesus and ourselves. "Jesus, you remind me of myself, we are so different" (Mother Marie Estelle). Our impatience, uncharitableness, judgmentalism, and self-centeredness rise up despite our best efforts. Nevertheless, you may have noticed the radiant generosity, kindness and forgiveness of those who are in love and feel loved.

What would it be like if we applied those words of God to us, his children?

Can I really believe God loves me so much warts and all?

Am I willing to let go of the self-flagellation to listen to God's words?
Imagine how lovingly I would live each day if I really were immersed in God's love for me.

Today, let's savor , "This is my BELOVED daughter/son with whom I am well pleased."
